bubsy 1 on nso is cool, i’ve been playing it on the recent bubsy collection, its not that bad honestly. i keep coming back to it. i feel like it has soul and that the people that made it were trying to make something good.

in the original japanese version of the game you couldn't even save your progress in story mode to reset the level you're on, nor do you even get the special melon graphic when you beat the level with all melons, so this must be the intended way to play

playing yoshi's story by just eating every fruit you see is playing it wrong, AND doing all melon runs is also playing it wrong. just try to get as many big hearts and melons in a row as you can. do one lap of the level and then finish the level with the lucky fruits on the second lap. go for score
