I was in this ethnic Tajik nationalism Space talking about apostate & LGBT+ rights in Afghanistan. The host refused to let me finish my thoughts and removed me from the Speakers panel. Pan-Tajik Muslims who oppose the Taliban are equally bigoted, homophobic, and hypocritical.

In the past week, I joined many Afghan Spaces on X and declared the bold stance we had take for the emancipation of our homeland from tyranny. It warms my heart to see my compatriots resolutely agree that apostates and LGBTs deserve to be free and equal under the laws of Afghanistan.

Amrullah Saleh is not a true Afghan. When I came out gay in 2013, he instantly blocked me and still has me blocked. Maybe he’s struggling with his own sexuality but it still doesn’t excuse him for denying the liberation of Afghanistan’s LGBT+ community. Will he end his hypocrisy?
