A new study compared out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) at U.S. airports compared to other public locations. Researchers found that airports had significantly higher rates of witnessed cardiac arrests, immediate CPR, and early use of AEDs.

A recent national analysis examines how consistently vital signs are assessed in EMS non-transport encounters. Using the 2023 NEMSIS Public Release Research Dataset, the study analyzed nearly 6 million adult non-transport incidents.

A recently published study has revealed significant disparities in the administration of aspirin to patients experiencing chest pain and/or ST elevation myocardial infarctions (STEMIs) in the prehospital setting.

A recent study shows that EMS care varies across the U.S. based on geography, patient acuity, & insurance coverage. Researchers found that patients in rural areas are less likely to receive ALS care during low-acuity emergencies compared to urban settings.
