While it's not immediately obvious, she is a very prideful person. When there is anything she can't do or can't understand right away, she becomes a smidge competitive about it, which can lead to her becoming very riled up. (Her competetive streak is why her grades at school are good)
However, her competitiveness isn't aimless. She chooses her battles, and depending on what she deems relevant to her sense of pride, she will be very proactive. In fact, she can be quite thoughtless when it comes to subjects that don't interest her and that she doesn't find worth exploring, causing her to make rash decisions or be rude at times.
