As the sun set on Oct 15, a dozen Merlin seemed absolutely dead-set on not going to bed w/o a meal. For 30 mins, they made pass over pass around the pond at the hawkwatch platform, looking for a songbird, dragonfly or shorebird to pop...one of the coolest experiences I've had at any hawkwatch. 🦅😎
