It was incredible. But it felt like he was totally in control of it. We lived on a big army base at time. His wife seemed okay with it. But it’s not really something people should be doing.

I saw a man my dad worked with in the army pick up his baby like that and hold them up in the air when he and his wife visited one Sunday afternoon. He was tall and had very big hands.

Now I have to go and watch an episode of EastEnders and try and work out what’s going on. This happens most Christmases. I can handle it. I’m trained for it.

I remember when the first Syphon Filter game came out and it felt like the enemy AI was amazing. But what they’d actually done was painstakingly map every route and possible position for every NPC. Obviously it’s different now, but video games have their own methods and do their own things.

I only ever saw second hand annuals, but that was a good magazine.
