Connor literally only has about 3 minutes of screentime BUT he's actually a really important character. I'm *almost* bummed the movie tanked because I would have liked to see where the story went from there.
But, yeah, it was not good.

According to a friend he was able to see the subtitles by turning them off then back on then exiting out of the ep and going back in
