Well, any role in the UI team responsible for a product with up to 1 billion users will be highly sought after, so a very meritocratically selected gang. Apparently they can’t satisfy all of the people, all of the time; who would have guessed??

Like the US economy, the Titanic was large and powerful with huge momentum. Any competent helm can easily maintain course – 2% inflation, for example. But... remove all the skilled navigators; put your buddy on the helm; ignore weather warnings; take the shorter route... what could possibly go wro

Vance might not be able to so, but for a competent helm it's entirely straightforward. At it's cruising speed of nearly 20kts the Titanic could traverse its 3500 ft turning circle in about 4 minutes.

At it's cruising speed of ~20kts The Titanic could have made a 180 degree turn in ~4 minutes. So on an objective, verifiable number he's spectacularly wrong; not even on the right planet

My (shallow) understanding is that the peasants really did believe this, at least until they were fired upon. Isn't Thom Tillis using a common rhetorical technique to get his message through to a monstrous ego? One that will never admit to a mistake personally but will delight in blaming others.

Well, that grey, pudgy "hand" is obviously fake... but maybe the original hand hasn't actually been removed.... maybe it's just really, really, REALLY tiny

Please... equating Bari Weiss with Lunar Fluffernutter Believers is quite belittling... they have sincerely held beliefs but do not insult professional journalists in order to pander to a senile power-mad autocrat. LFB may be batshit crazy but it's not maliciously evil :/
