A foodie from the start

For me it’s whether or not the fruit in question is likely to cure. Squashes/pumpkins tend to cure and last months thanks to their much harder flesh. Melons tend to rot and ferment quickly. Zucchini and cucumber are more like melons when we eat them but if left to get huge and tough are squash.
