something I learned building OpenQR:
users don't care about your tech stack

they care about:
→ does it work?
→ is it fast?
→ does it solve my problem?

I spent months perfecting the code
users just wanted it to work reliably

stop optimizing for developers
start optimizing for users

unpopular opinion:

you don't need more hours.
you need better focus.

I have 2-3 hours per evening or night.
that's it.

but in those hours:
→ zero distractions
→ clear goals
→ one task at a time

it's not about time.
it's about what you do with it.

focus > hours.

most don't know there are 2 types of QR codes:

static:
→link is encoded in the QR
→can't change it after printing
→can't track
→basically useless for business

dynamic:
→QR points to redirect link
→change destination
→track scan
→reuse forever

if you're printing QR codes make sure they're dynamic

Question for builders:
what's your MRR goal?

I'm at $60 right now
my goal: $4,000

why $4k?
→covers my current expenses
→gives me safety to take risks
→buys time to build more

not chasing $10k or $100k (for now 🤣)
just chasing freedom

what's your number?
why that specific amount?

New week.
New focus.

Last week: traveled to Belgium, OpenQR ran itself
This week: back to building

Goals:
→ finish QR landing page features
→ be visible on the Bsky :)
→ write a blog post
→ 9-5 job

Not chasing viral.
Just consistent progress.

What are you plans for this week?
December 15, 2025 at 8:39 AM
I scanned maybe 20 QR codes while I traveled in Belgium:
→restaurant menus
→museum info
→tour bookings

you know what worked?

the ones that:
→loaded fast
→mobile-optimized
→had clear steps

what failed?
→desktop websites on mobile
→links that went nowhere

customer won't give you a second chance

Somewhere on X right now…

A founder with less than 400 followers.
Will eventually build something massive.

He just doesn’t know yet.

Building OpenQR for months now

→Each component ships when it's ready
→Every update here = accountability checkpoint
→Every thread = documentation for future me
→The messy middle matters more than the highlight reel

One day I'll look back at these tweets and remember how I solved each problem

Been juggling a 9-to-5, family time, and building OpenQRCode for months now.

The secret? Stop treating it like a sprint.

Build slow, share everything, let opportunities find you.

Your timeline becomes your resume.

Monday started with a 51 Eur payout.

not much on paper.
but it hits different when it comes from something you build at night while everyone sleeps
OpenQR isn’t blowing up

1–2 hours a day
after the 9–5

after kids sleep

slow money > fake momentum.

51 today.
more later.

what was your win lately?

Almost 2 years of building OpenQR.
things worked:
→ building in public
→ listening to every piece of user feedback
→ being honest about the slow progress

things didn't work:
→ overthinking features
→ staying quiet

lesson learned:
progress isn't always visible.
but consistency always compounds.

Unpopular Opinion:
Normal QR codes suck:
- Low scan rates
- Lacks trust
- No tracking

Instead?

Use OpenQR codes:
- Boost scans
- Build TRUST
- Track results in real time

Optimizing QR code error correction levels 🔧 Higher correction = more reliable scans but larger codes. openqr.io automatically balances size vs. reliability based on content. The details that users never see matter most! #TechTuesday #Optimization
