I have this smooth, flat beach stone that I keep in my purse or on my bedside table. I was having a storm of intrusive thoughts the other day, and in the middle of the chaos I kept seeing that rock in the center of it. Reminding me the storm WILL end and I’ll be back on solid ground soon.

I started dipping back into a childhood fav recently: The Changeling, by Zilpha Keatley Snyder. Realized immediately that the main character, Martha, is Autistic-coded and no wonder I related so hard to her back then. Makes it both a delightful and difficult read. :-/

And I feel most ashamed as an adult when I can’t handle tough subjects. The slightest hint of a character (especially a Juv/YA character & ESPECIALLY a fellow #neurodivergent one) being treated unfairly triggers a #DNF 😞.
