fwiw, after reading the articles, comments from the episode that I did not pay attention to (but remember) came back:
- we made decisions that we knew were bad but were told do so
- we spent a lot of time one the technical under-belly

Its interesting listening to the episode and then read the wiki page / some linked reviews. I listened to the episode in one mindset and those articles puts it a completely different frame for me.
