does anyone ever wonder why most sayings aren't being completed? people say blood is thicker than water, but the full saying is "blood of the covenant is thicker than water of the womb" and "the early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese". why were they cut in half?

why is the saying "like a bat outta hell"? shouldn't it be "like a goose outta hell" or a rooster? bats don't have teeth on every part of their mouth or a horrible temper, so why are bats part of hellborn beings and geese aren't? shouldn't it be the other way around?
