I think there is a shift in some fields. Our generation isn’t gone but the generation of my children are not making the same choices mine did.
The article is rubbish but despite missing the point it did touch on a problem. We need diversity and like STEM it takes ages to fix once you are stuck.

Not seen one of those for a long time.
The shorter sibling was my first PC experience at home.
Not sure I learned a lot but it was absolutely fun.

Worked very hard to earn enough to get my first computer.
That was a 286 with CGA graphics and a tiny monitor. It was absolutely under 1000 USD equivalent.
As I got older the computers got better and cost more but took about the same chunk out of my salary.
Lately it seems to be increasing.
