NeuRA's A/Prof Jasmine Menant has received a $2.8M grant from the Medical Research Future Fund for her StepSafe falls project.

“StepSafe is a falls prevention project for people with Parkinson’s disease that is using exergames in a cognitive-motor step training intervention,” A/Prof Menant said.

Chronic pain conditions such as CRPS have been thought to be driven by lasting changes in the brain’s sensory systems. But thanks to the work of NeuRA in conjunction with UNSW, that assumption may not be correct.

New research from NeuRA, UNSW and University of Sydney (USYD) has revealed that Parkinson’s disease causes significant and progressive changes to blood vessels in the brain, changing our understanding of the disease, which may lead to new treatment methods.
