I’d love to hear more ideas about this. I’ve been brainstorming for my own teaching. How to we stop teaching the brain as a domino chain (where disorders are broken dominos) but instead as a multi-level dynamical system? Starting at the earliest stages? Please chime in! A few thoughts …

Finished reading @nicolecrust.bsky.social’s Elusive Cures. Very interesting. I wonder, how do we change the way we train our students to help implement the new Grand Plan?

Second, I understand there’s a movement in education to think about things like ecology and climate as big holistic dynamical systems (even in grade school). We can learn from that. Anyone w/ pointers, please chime in!

Out now in Science Advances! We find that infants estimate environmental volatility to learn optimally, with early individual differences linked to temperament. This has be so much fun to work on and ended up being my favourite personal paper! So excited it's out!

Although I guess that is consistent with our own transcriptomic work ;-)

Interesting. I have reading up to do then

I agree that’s possible as well. Hard to talk about target or outcome, though. But I think there are probably very few genes acting on a particular neural systems? But I am very much not the expert on that

Precon_all is finally citeable! I’m relieved, pleased, thrilled and all other superlatives to present to you our preprint describing the inner workings of the precon_all pipeline for semi-automated non-human cortical surface reconstruction! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... 1/10
