I have the pieces, I just don't know how to put them together without making it overly convoluted... ESPECIALLY for my first personal project with actual effort put in. I really need to sit down with some friends and just pick their brains about what this project was and has become.

It certainly will. Things like journaling will help with mindfulness! Write about those good things in your day and maybe even draw around the edges. There's a reason it's such a popular therapeutic practice!
