Pseudonym of a boring policy wonk by day
@neveltenjohn.bsky.social
Center-right, former lifelong Republican, NeverTrump, policy and stat geek with too much education and too much experience.
Spirited is actually a GOOD movie, but the idea of a musical comedy centered on two actors who can't sing IS strange. Also it goes on for too long, and is too predictable.

Lol, but I still liked it somehow.

You like the show premised on evil corporations suppressing technology so it can sell underground real estate???

This may be a sticking point in the alliance of center and left against MAGA. We tend to like America even if we agree it was never perfect.

Iraq was not about oil.

But I agree that all the false things the left said about previous Republican Presidents ARE true about Trump.

Bad slogan.

The vast majority of BOTH immigrants and billionaires are assets to America that help to make life better for ordinary Americans.

Just consider me overly sensitive about social media. I am a technophile who believe humanity turns any new technology into a net benefit,

BUT social media is challenging my priors.

It always sounds naive to say "we just need to educate voters better", but:
—Voters were always of two minds on immigration
—Many attitudes they do have are based upon LOTS of misinformation
—Both ICE brutality and Trump's moves against legal immigrants offend the "better angels" people DO have.

What picture?

My main objection is still to automatically joining a social media mob with no evidence.

Fair point. And it is amazing how many people maintained relationships with him after that. But how far back do these emails go?
December 18, 2025 at 6:25 PM
I am pointing out that you are using social media rush to attack someone:

1. Without knowing when the emails took place or their contents.
2. Having your only evidence of their existence being another social media post.
December 18, 2025 at 6:17 PM
You do know that most of these emails were from BEFORE that was known right?

I am not unwilling to judge, I am just unwilling to judge without facts.

TBF nearly everyone with any influence in the world seems to have gotten an invite or 2 from Epstein. I'll reserve judgement until knowing what "being in the files" means.

I understand the appeal, but the 25th Amendment is really structured to work just in the "President in coma" scenario. Any President removed by their Cabinet can reinstate themselves by signing a letter.

On an old IBM mainframe system we had to assign 3-letter job names, and could check the status of a job using a locate command.

I used to show people you could ask the computer to

"LOCATE GOD", and be told "GOD NOT FOUND".

One time though the query returned:

"GOD AWAITS EXECUTION"
