I think his point partially refutes your view that it's about "look we have the biggest balls". From the perspective of the average American, it's "look cool planes" and part of the spectacle.

Ok, but did you read what I wrote? This moment is PR, the lawsuits, the state legislation, the redistricting, that's all concrete stuff. Spanberger has immediately started doing similar things now that she's in office. Pritzker has done similar things.

Real talk: those bases are so reliant on their host country's support that they would fall almost immediately if the US and Europe went to war. They are set up the same way as bases in the US are and reliant on being in friendly territory. The US invaded Greenland, the host countries take the bases

Fellow Dems yes, but not himself. California has been at the forefront of legal challenges to the regime and adopting state policies that counter the regime. He also personally led the charge on redistricting, not just getting it passed but for convincing Dem voters it's good
