I think it’s important to highlight that some parts are younger than others. So when she talks about an age gap relationship, a protégé, someone who needed to grow up … she is likely still talking to and about herself, just in different parts.

They’re dressed the same because they’re both playing Taylor.

She’s playing the poet (emotional, raw, honest, yearning, but closeted). The man is the star (professional, married to the industry). He can’t publicly let himself be with the poet because he sees who she is (gay) when the lights go off
