Adamn Daniel
Chief of the Nevis police department and main antagonist for Season 0.

He hates Jacob and Julie, that's it really.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
Barley Cox
Owner of the 'Barley's Club' in the depths of the city, and close friends to the J&J duo, using his hidden bar as a place for the people like the main group or those struggling to get away from the public streets, a place to relax, even if under the eyes of the 5 crime heads.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
Adyn Dawning
The second getaway driver of the team, he's more of the quiet type, not being one to pitch in to the teams discussions unless needed, though he does enjoy the freedom being with them gives him.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
Michael
He's the muscle of the team, having had his torso and arms fully replaced after an accident, he uses it to his advantage with the enhanced strength it gives him, mainly using it for breaking through walls or security doors during heists, or if needed, carrying stuff to heavy for the others.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
Jack Wayne
The first one to join Jacob and Julie's team, he's the planner of the team, having worked in construction for years, allowing him access to almost any blueprints and floor plans the team would need when planning a heist, even if it's Joseph that does most of the planning.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
Joseph Creek
He's the logic of the team, having a more tempered and easily annoyed attitude that helps him keep his mind grounded while most of the team tends to not think rationally about things, also serving him in managing to form the plans for most of the teams heists.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
Layney Burke
She's the teams guns, having worked with most weaponry enough in her life to be able to use almost any gun with ease, often just sticking to her main sniper rifle to serve as lookout on heists.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
DAN
The newest member of the group, he's the teams heart, having spent years locked up in Horizon Tech's main tower in the city before finally getting freedom once he met Julie during a heist the team had pulled at the building, now able to fully experience the world.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
Macy Hall
Girlfriend of Julie, she's the teams hacker, able to give the team any opening they need to get through security systems.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
Julie William
Twin sister to Jacob, she's the teams tag artist, always making sure who was at the scene of the crime, she's got a very energetic mood which she uses to her advantage when needing to take charge.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
Characters:

Jacob William
Twin brother to Julie, he's the teams main getaway driver, having a mostly laid back attitude that causes him to never be one to take charge much.

Nevis City is a roleplay/hangout map developed in the UEFN software, with a total of 10 seasons planned that'll tell the story of the twins, Jacob and Julie and their friend group, who all together work as a sort of Robin Hood esc team, stealing things that serve to help the people that need it.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
Anyways I feel like that's enough about the story behind the map and how it was made, now I should probably get to what the map and story actually is.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
I soon later decided on full on scrapping the BR mode.

This was due to the fact that BR maps on the game had overall dropped in popularity, and so I decided to instead make the roleplay/hangout mode the main version, which was tricky since the story was already planned to explain the BR aspect.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
Also some time during later 2023, I made the choice to separate Nevis into 2 different modes, one being BR where the main story would be told and a roleplay version that would have minigames on the map and remain on the season 0 version.

For extra context for the image, Genesis is a group made by my friend SirRifty, meant to be a team that works together to create different types of Fortnite map projects, namely "Chilly's Iceberg" and their recent "Fracture: Reshaped", which I was (and still hope to be) a part of.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
And so throughout the later half of 2023 and start of 2024 I was hardly able to work on the map due to how slow UEFN was to use on my computer, taking nearly an hour and a half minimum to even open the project.

Eventually in May 2024, I finally made the choice to pause development.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
This version unsurprisingly was the one that turns out the best, UEFN allowing me the tools to truly make it how I had envisioned.

Until it didn't.

Turns out a computer than can hardly run Fortnite at 3fps max at the lowest settings possible also struggles with the Fortnite game making engine.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
March 2023: UEFN was finally released, and I immediately got to work on what is now the current version of Nevis, nicknamed 'Buaic'.

Also another redesign for Julie. (the other characters here are the full 'main group' cast, will explain more later)
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
During this time though, there were talks about an upcoming version of Unreal Engine called UEFN, a version that would be integrated with Fortnite Creative to serve as an 'easier' version of Unreal for people to use to make maps instead of the normal creative mode.

And so I planned, and I waited.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
around early fall 2022, unsurprisingly I logged in one day after an update, and half of the map was covered in warnings caused by those areas being around 30k over the 100k limit, and basically unfixable.

So, the map was scrapped.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
With how much I wanted to do, the memory limit was a problem, so the moment an update came and introduced a bug that caused certain props to instead give you more memory with each one placed, namely a TV that added 2 per prop, I proceeded to add large groups scattered around.

And then it was fixed.
November 15, 2024 at 4:32 AM
As I said before, there was a reason this map was named Icarus, and it's because of the story of Icarus.

I flew too close to the sun.

For those who don't know, Fortnite Creative has a 'memory limit' feature, with everything you place costing a small amount that can add up.

This map lasted the longest and was when I really started coming up with most of the story as it is now, mainly with the creation of the Elemental Kings, who ultimately aren't very important to the story, as well as the main villain of the story.

That and the twins were redesigned.
