We think that Trump is so hopped up on hubris that he will launch a joint strike on Iran with Israel. When the Strait of Hormuz is blockaded and Gulf energy installations are attacked, he will be furious and wonder why the Iranians hit back.

Delcy's call for cooperation with the United States means nothing because Trump wants Americans to run Venezuela outright. He wants to install his own team without putting American troops on the ground. Delcy will not agree to presiding over her doom.

Are we worried that Trump is going to invade Canada and Greenland? Absolutely! That was the primary motivation for us to start meeting. We wanted to create a militia capable of resisting America, if the time comes. However, the war in Venezuela barely even started.

We hope Trump captured Maduro. That would mean the larger Venezuelan government's intact, while an unpopular dictator is turned into a living martyr on the world stage. The chances of widespread sanctions on Venezuela just soared, and China/Russia would be galvanized by the precedent this would set.

Don't read too much into the relative silence coming out of Venezuela right now. Strikes come in waves, and the first one ended, but there will probably be many more.

An immediately unpopular war for oil, in a world that's changing to your disadvantage? This could easily be Trump's Suez Crisis, not another Iraq War. Watch out for sanctions and tariffs being imposed on America, since the parallels to the invasion of Ukraine are clear, down to the helicopter raids.

It's worth noting that the k-shaped economy is based on appreciating asset values, namely stocks and real estate. When those prices go down, and they always do eventually, it will be messy for the top 10%, but not the 1%.

A surge in US consumer spending while incomes remain flat indicates that people are taking on massive amounts of debt, at a time when their long-term ability to service it is questionable. Of course, loans are financialized and carry systemic risks. /1
