But how could a judgement be enforced? The BBC could, presumably, be made to liquidate its assets in the USA, but after that the court has no jurisdiction. (Though, because of US exceptionalism, it might claim it has.)

Various governments forced us to buy unsuitable British products like the wretched ICL 2980 mainframe computer I worked with. ICL seemed to think the country owed them a living; that feeling seems to have persisted into Futjitsu UK when they were taken over.
