UBA compliance officer, Abimbola Williams, on Wednesday told the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Maitama, that ₦640 million was withdrawn from the Kogi State Government account within six days. Williams, who testified as the third prosecution witness in the ongoing trial of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, said the withdrawals were made through 64 cheques of ₦10 million each by the then Chief Accountant of the Government House, Abdulsalami Hudu, between July 31 and August 6, 2019.

The legal team representing the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has said the absence of a medical report from the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) was not the real reason for the adjournment of the trial of the IPOB leader on Wednesday. The legal team warned that the continued trial of their client is undermining the integrity of Nigeria’s judiciary and eroding public confidence in the justice system.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched an investigation into Prof. Saleh Abdullahi Usman, the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), over alleged large-scale financial misconduct related to the 2025 Hajj operations. According to sources, Usman presented himself at the EFCC headquarters earlier today in response to a formal invitation. He was subsequently released on administrative bail but is required to report to the Commission daily as investigations continue.

MICHAEL AKINOLA  A 34-year old man, Felix Oluwatobi, has landed in trouble for allegedly luring his neighbour’s 15-year old girl and engaging her in sex.  P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Oluwatobi, has been arrested and charged for defilement under the Criminal Law of the State. The incident happened on 25th September, 2025, at Mukaila Ajaro Street, Celestial Road, lgando, Lagos, where they reside.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the ministers in the administration of President Bola Tinubu have taken after the president forging documents. The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), on Wednesday, halted construction at River Park Estate, Abuja, in line with a ministerial directive stopping further development on the property. A witness for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday told a Federal High Court in Abuja that Olugbenga Obadina received N2.1 billion from the office of former National Security Adviser (NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.) without executing any contract. Bello Umar, the first prosecution witness (PW-1), made the revelation before Justice James Omotosho while being led in evidence by EFCC lawyer Ibrahim Buba.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday commenced the provision of engineering infrastructure in Guzape District (A09) and Asokoro (A04), and warned officials against the sale and naming of streets after private individuals. The African Democratic Congress (ADC), has described the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as “a nest of certificate forgers.” The party was reacting to the resignation on Tuesday, of the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, over certificate forgery allegations. But a statement on Wednesday by the spokesman of the ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the involvement in certificate forgery of a cabinet minister in the APC administration, is merely indicative and actually confirms the party as a nest of certificate forgers.

The trial of former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, resumed on Wednesday as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) presented additional witnesses before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Maitama. Bello, who governed Kogi State from 2016 to 2024, is standing trial alongside two officials of the state government — Umar Shuaibu Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu — on a 16-count charge bordering on money laundering and criminal breach of trust involving ₦110 billion.

The Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (ACHPN), Kaduna State Chapter, has raised concern over the proliferation of unaccredited private Colleges and Schools of Health Technology operating in the state. The State Chairman of ACHPN, Comrade Aliyu Abdulrasheed Umar, made the remark at a press conference in Kaduna on Wednesday, revealing that while only 25 institutions are officially recognised, more than 60 others are functioning without accreditation from the relevant regulatory board.

Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Lagos State Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, on Wednesday, October 8, adjourned till October 9, 2025 for ruling on the admissibility of key documents tendered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC against former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele. Emefiele is standing trial on a 19-count charge bordering on receiving gratification and corrupt demand preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The Kaduna House of Assembly has said the recent incident between farmers and herders in Koro District and Kagarko Local Government Area of the state was exaggerated as it was a mere misunderstanding. Speaking on the matter, the Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Barrister Magaji Danjuma, who represents the area, said the attacks were blown out of proportion, as it was nothing more than a minor disagreement that was swiftly resolved through dialogue and mediation in line with Governor Uba Sani’s grassroots peace and inclusivity model.
