Yeah. I'm so vested in it by this point, nearly 36,000 notes over the years. Not sure how I'd ever migrate to a new platform or if I'd just have to abandon my old notes. I have a lot of records there that I have to maintain. I'm pretty much stuck.

I haven't received a notice yet but just checked online and realize I'm looking at a 50 percent pricing increase to go from Professional to their new Advanced tier. Sigh. I'll give Bending Spoons props for improving speed and overall performance but seems like a lot of money for some AI.

TBF, my MIL was highly intelligent, a therapist who worked until she was 82, and fairly good with computers for someone her age. Part of her problem was vision, particularly when entering credit card info on her iPhone.

To be fair my wife and I aren’t young ourselves.

For sure. Though in the case of my mother-in-law I handled all the techie stuff while my wife did the physical care (which was much harder).

Sad and beautiful essay. Deeply moving. I had thought my daughter would inherit a much better world. But no.

This is one of those posts I don’t want to “like.” Just terrible. Sorry, Jess.

Work ethic seems to be declining and yet doesn’t seem to be true in sports.

Very sobering thread. Thank you for sharing. Seems like it’s a culmination of a bunch of trends: kids growing up addicted to mobile devices, poor methods of teaching reading in the early grades, general societal disdain for reading longer-form writing, and of course AI. Makes me fear the future.

100 percent. The evangelicals never sit out an election.

Agreed. Very sobering and eerily prescient.

Ordinarily I like Jess’ perspective. I appreciate what she’s doing to fight the good fight out in rural Missouri. But she’s wrong on this.

Same guy saying he will “permanently pause” migration which is a contradiction in terms. Yeah, logic is not their strong suit.
November 28, 2025 at 5:41 PM
He wants to “permanently pause” immigration … uh, that doesn’t make grammatical sense. The least of the issues here, I know, but seems emblematic.

Got some classic lines, particularly “If you see me comin' better step aside
A lot of men didn't, a lot of men died
One fist of iron, the other of steel
If the right one don't getcha, then the left one will.”

Been to Vegas a few times for business. Great experience even if you’re like me and don’t gamble.

Love it. My granddad used to say that as well.
