The idea is that we are all subject to the law, and that those can be changed. Not throw out the whole system.
But when one (Trump) decides that the law doesn't apply to him, and SCOTUS agrees, we have to adjust and make the law apply to him, and to SCOTUS. That will be difficult.

But if "rules, laws, traditions" are up for grabs, what makes you think that "new & better ones" will be followed? If you can break them at any time, without consequences, then they are meaningless.

Calling out people for not knowing who someone is, and then misspelling the name kind of ruins the point you were trying to make, don't you think?
January 6, 2026 at 10:24 PM
Isn't that the point for Trump? To end NATO?

And doing that leaves you in a permanent minority, and you never get anything you want from your government. Politics is the art of the possible. Purity tests make things impossible.

I agree that there have been some disappointments. That they aren't perfect. That I'd like to be rid of a number of them for better candidates. But those notional better candidates have to get elected. An AOC clone can't win in MTG's district. We have to be seen rewarding those that take hard votes.

Tell me how they get it to the floor of the House? They should be seen fighting for it, yes. But until several GOPers stand up for the Constitution, it won't be voted on. And 20 GOP senators have to flip to convict.
January 5, 2026 at 12:15 AM
Of course, they had the speakership, so they controlled the floor. So they could hold the votes.

About a 2.

Best guess is that if the person is real, and eligible to vote in the US that they either didn't vote, or voted for Trump.

I want the admin to tell us how many innocent people can be killed to arrest a pick pocket, a thief, an arsonist, domestic abuser, tax avoider, pedophile, etc...

What can the Dems do, other that yell that it is unconstitutional? They have 213 in the house to impeach, they need 218. They need 67 in the Senate to convict. They have 47.

Following your analogy, the exterminator you hired didn't do the job, and you're mad at the one that you didn't hire?
January 4, 2026 at 9:54 PM
Oh, and the president is a Republican.
January 4, 2026 at 9:40 PM
It is. You fight for your position in the primary, try to move the candidate in your preferred direction, but in the general, you have to show up for democracy. They might not be as pure as you would want, but we are seeing the consequences of purity tests.
January 4, 2026 at 9:18 PM
With 220 GOP Reps (213 Dems) and 53 GOP senators (47 Dems), please explain how impeachment works when you need 218 to impeach and 67 to convict.
It isn't the Dems that need a spine to uphold the Constitution.
January 4, 2026 at 8:52 PM
Another example of Murc's Law. Yasmeen seems to believe that only Democrats have any agency. That the GOP is powerless to make any changes to our current state of affairs.
January 4, 2026 at 8:28 PM
Explain to me what Dems can do? It takes a majority in the House to impeach. The GOP has the majority (220-213, 2 vacant). The GOP has the Senate, 53-47, and it would take 20 GOP senators to flip vote to convict Trump.
Maybe, the lesser of 2 evils isn't actually evil?
January 4, 2026 at 8:26 PM
Wonder how many people cops are allowed to kill to arrest a pick pocket, or a 2nd story man, or a car thief? How about a briber? Or a tax evader?
January 4, 2026 at 8:22 PM
Could Britain, France, and/or Germany have kidnapped Trump if he remained in power after being voted out?
January 3, 2026 at 7:53 PM
Based on Trump's statement about not being elected as a reason to kidnap Maduro, does this mean that Britain, France, and/or Germany could have kidnapped Trump for trying to remain in power after being voted out?
January 3, 2026 at 7:50 PM
You do realize it takes a majority of the House to impeach (the GOP has the majority) and it takes 2/3 of the Senate (67 senators, there are 53 GOP senators right now)? 20 GOP senators would have vote to convict right now. Impeachment requires representatives that will do so. So work to elect them.

Performative Christianity is the worst thing to happen to Christianity. Something about praying in a dark closet and knowing a Christian by their love comes to mind.

Oh, she has faith. Faith that she can keep up the grift.

Zelensky should tell Trump that if he wants the peace prize, he will tell Russia that they have to leave all of Ukraine by the end of the year, or the US and NATO will join Ukraine to do so. There will be peace only if Russia is expelled.
December 27, 2025 at 6:32 PM
Yes, yes they are.
