Oh I don’t doubt it. I’ve got my first week off this year in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait! Couldn’t imagine only having one more to look forward to after it (or none at all!)

To my English ears that article sounds so very American to me.
Every full time worker over here has 28 days off a year by law (thank god) and I’ve never met anyone that doesn’t take them all. Hopefully this opinion is one part of the culture war that doesn’t make its way over here 😬

He went on a long run with only one win (against Man Utd). Lots and lots of pundits were solemnly declaring that sadly he wasn’t up to it and had no chance of turning it around. And then he did and they had to swallow their words.

Probably happens weekly but the player doesn’t score and no one cares.
Man Utd got a corner that should’ve been a goal kick at one point, nothing came of it and no one will remember it but people still mention the corner against Tottenham we shouldn’t have been given *because* we scored from it.

I remember the moaning when you finished fallout 3 and that was that, you couldn’t just go back out and wander around the wasteland having completed the game.

Yeah I’ve watched with the sound off for a long time, just have music on in the background. I didn’t even twig there was anything even up with the free kick until after the game when I went on twitter

Sadly engagement is king now, it’s in everything from the pushing of hashtags in the pre match graphics to setting traps in the post match interviews. The likes of Talksport have been doing it for years. The only way to beat it is to not engage

This whole narrative existed then because everyone else wanted us to have a go at city and get stuffed by 3 or 4. Now it exists because those same people have the luxury of hindsight and can pretend it was somehow obvious (away at city, with all those games still to go) that we HAD to win.
