Short answer yes. I've done the insane multiple 60-90 hours weeks to make an impression/get a foot in the door/chase that promotion and at the end of it what I got was stress and burnout and the understanding that unless you have a ownership stake, in large companies no-one gives a shit about you.

Fish counter at Safeway 97/98ish. Why don't you ever have any vegetarian mackerel?
Or the man that was very annoyed we wouldn't refund him for his chicken that was 3 weeks out of date and a half peeled off Tesco sticker. This was in Guernsey. We didn't have a Tesco.
