Almost 60% of people who share a story on social media will do so without ever reading past the headline. Favourites on YouTube: "Good Talk" with Peter Mansbridge and "About That" with Andrew Chang.

Who else read President Trump's new Executive Order on "restoring shower freedom" this afternoon and thought, sadly, yeah, I can totally see Poilievre doing this too?

The comments are interesting.

Where the Gatineau River meets the Ottawa River in 1972. Ended in 1992. It took several years to clear all the logs and "deadheads" in the two rivers to make it safe for recreational boating.

I'm old enough to remember this. The springtime was so dangerous with the ice and snow and the rapids. Holy smokes! They sometimes used dynamite too!

It's still winter up here.

"In 2025, an average of almost 69 million Americans per month will receive a Social Security benefit, totaling about $1.6 trillion in benefits paid during the year."

Those easily fixed minor tweaks better be impressive.

Almost 2,000 miles of muskeg, lakes, rivers, mosquitoes, black flies, snow, ice, freezing temperatures, polar bears, mountains, etc. between the arctic shores and the nearest highway in southern Canada.

How could they forget the relish from Quebec?

Poilievre wants the Canadian government to do business with Musk. Conservative MP Michael Barrett proudly had this post asking for a quote for Starlink services pinned to the top of his X page for months. If Poilievre was against it you can bet Barrett would've been told to take it down.

Don't believe anything Trump says.

I'm not sure what the military security thing is about. Some people are freaked out about the Arctic. Truth be told if Russian or Chinese forces landed in the Arctic in the hopes of invading the US they would have to make it through bug infested muskeg in the summer or snow and ice in the winter.

I'm guessing he'll drive south of Minneapolis and stay overnight in one of the nicer Mankato hotels?

Pretty sure things have changed. This is the greenhouse my baby cucumbers and green relish comes from. Looks fine. Local Savoura Bio tomato greenhouses look similar to this one.

Do ongoing wars figure in the calculations? Just wondering if oil and gas storage depots on fire, burning military tanks, burning buildings, etc. are in there somewhere.
It's a bit discouraging to drive less and turn the thermostat down and then see oil storage tanks on fire.

Do you have the book? We were without power for three weeks. Heat was our trusted emergency kerosene heater (make sure to use grade 1-K clean kerosene).

Seniors in their late 70s don't like to travel far from home and that includes Trump. I will be surprised if he shows up in the Canadian Rockies for the G7 in June.
