Hospitals across Dumfries and Galloway are reopening for normal visiting from Friday 19 December. Visitors will still have to wear masks at all times in clinical areas and have been asked not to remove them when talking to patients, in order to reduce the risk of passing on an infection.

Our hospitals are extremely busy, and our Emergency Departments are there for very serious or life-threatening emergencies.

If you’re feeling unwell, there are many other places to get help and advice - often helping you receive the most appropriate care more quickly.
