A really good example of that is how when a lot of people (correctly!) rail against American imperialism, they forget that America isn’t the only country that does that. Russia, China, France, and even somewhat smaller countries like Australia and Ethiopia engage in imperialist activities as well.

It’s also a decent argument for federalism, since by splitting power between a central government, a regional government, and cities/towns/counties, you limit the amount of damage an insane fool in any of those positions can do

As a counterpoint, we shouldn’t be afraid to criticize the other parties when they make questionable decisions like this pipeline deal. Being united against Trump’s aggression doesn’t mean we should shy away from criticism of one or more of the other parties

I’m convinced that everyone in charge of the DNC is stuck in the 90s, and is steadfastly convinced that the tactics that worked for Bill Clinton are evergreen and will always work (they don’t obviously, but it’s not obvious to any of them)
