Whilst celebrating the collections, it's important to recognise histories that are underrepresented in archives. #EYASilence is an opportunity to highlight work taking place to challenge these silences, such as Ashanti Harris's project which consulted the Scottish Theatre Archive.

Today's Explore Your Archive theme is #EYAPets, and we've picked some more items from the Scottish Theatre Archive. Amongst this collection of autographed theatrical postcards are a number featuring actor John Martin Harvey posing with his dogs 🐕

We’re behind the scenes for #EYADigital with our FRED machine, which analyses and processes digital files. Our collections increasingly involve digital materials; we’ve recently used the FRED and FTK to process material from the 2000s deposited from the University’s student television station, GUST.

For #EYAInclusion, we’ve been looking at the records of Queen Margaret College, a higher education institution for women that joined with the University of Glasgow in 1892. The records are a fascinating resource for anyone interested in the history of women’s education in Scotland.

For #EYAMedieval, we've chosen the 12th-century Hunterian Psalter, one of the most magnificent manuscripts from William Hunter’s library. Here's a miniature depicting the Ascension (fo. 4r), an intricate initial B (fol 22r), and a singing goat with an ass playing the harp (fol 88r). [MS Hunter 229]

The House of Fraser Archive offers a glimpse into the past of the 200 stores that have been acquired by the company since its foundation as a Glasgow drapery in 1849. For #EYABeauty we’re taking a look at some cosmetics counters through the decades💄

We kick off this year's #ExploreYourArchive Week with the theme #EYAConservation. A Chinese star chart bound within a manuscript has recently been conserved by our Book Conservator with Japanese paper & jin shofu paste. Can you see the difference before and after conservation? 🌟 [Ref: MS Hunter 10]
