Steadily plodding along on a couple other projects had my thinky bits feeling unproductive. So I grabbed a dino, rolled a D10 for color, applied a simple countershading pattern, and picked out some details for a finished mini!

Props/blame on the wonderful lady at the FLGS that started paint and hang. She suggested witches tartan for the Northwind Highlanders lance when I mentioned I didn't have any plans for how to paint them while checking out.

The Supernova's structure worked out even better than I'd expected. Initially I chose it because of the snoot and there's a vent on the rear center torso that was the perfect spot for an "inflatable tube man technology" tail.

Yeah, it definitely feels like they'd written themselves into a corner, and rather than just give the Clans the magic space rock "Kerensky-ite" (Because you KNOW that's what the Clans would name it) they retconed the Inner Sphere into new heights of systematic idiocy by finding the Helm Memory Core.

For all the "random bull* go!" And absolutely insane physics breaking stupidity of 40k (1000+ years of constant use on moving parts but no ability to repair/replicate?) it's actually believable that universe broke hard enough that knowledge that should be widespread became lost/unusably fragmented.

Haha, yeah, definitely one of the harder tropes to not create massive headache inducing plot holes with. Doesn't help that Battletech is generally pretty good about paying lip service to basic physics and logic on the whole. (supply lines ARE important! And warfare IS hard on equipment)

If I remember right after the fall of the Star League jump ships became a nonrenewable resource until about the Clan Invasion, and afterwards they're still something even the clans are hesitant to fire on unless you're already making a kamikaze run.
