It's a feature, not a bug.

They make it quite obvious to tech literate people that it is a scam in order to filter the people responding to only people that would fall for the scam's next steps.

This reddit thread explains it quite well:

Huh, interesting perspective. I'm not a super fan of Epic or anything, and I like many Apple products and services, but why do you think Epic sucks? Genuinely curious

Remember that Google lost the case to Epic, not because it is the only store on Android (it is not) but because of its very shady tactics to mantain their defacto monopoly.

To be devil advocate:

He has his own interest in mind for sure, but he has a solid point in that Google and Apple are free to set their own rules on their own store, but they should not be able to use their power and status as developers of the platform as leverage into being the defacto only store

A better way to frame it is "You may notice yellow paint in games. We talked to experts about why" or something to that effect. The video could stoke imagination, conversation.

Without normalizing more metered discussion around game development, we won't have developers feeling comfortable sharing.

Guys, this is not it. Pure clickbait and fearmongering. I expected more from you guys, so much so that I'm a subscriber. Not canceling over this single article, but please stop this kind of bad faith articles or I'll sadly just stop paying and visiting your site.

I tried reporting the offending "podcasts" but apparently Spotify doesn't have a reporting feature on Android. I tried the website but it just didn't accept the info I gave it. Really frustrating.

You do you, but to me it was very bad. The writing and pacing were subpar, with a lot of very dumb choices presented as intelligent. I get that people do dumb stuff when they get emotional, I do too, but a lot of this script felt like rushing through a checklist with little regard to cohesion.
