Durbin voting for this tells me this was Schumer’s directive. Durbin is retiring so it makes absolutely no sense for him to support this unless directed to as apart of some horrible strategy.

I have a take I don’t think I’ve seen so far when it comes to dem messaging around the shut down and the risk involved in the political finger pointing. We aren’t giving the ppl affected by the government shut down enough credit here. 1/3

Why are senate democrats continuing to vote for trumps appointees? If they listened to their own rhetoric, they would be voting no on every single appointment and republican lead legislation. He continues to do illegal shit and usurp Congress, use the only power you have idiots.

I’d love to hear some consultant tell me what the downside is of any of these senators voting no. Clearly it is up to us to hold Dem members accountable for voting with the regime. Should be a clear line in the sand (nominations being one of them) where if they vote with maga, they’re done.
If I were a Senate Democrat and Trump had just started an immoral and unconstitutional war, I would not vote to advance his Asst Sec of Defense.

No Kings was a huge success as far as I can see. Crazy turnout across the country. Hoping people got out of their comfort zone and have experienced a political awakening. But the movement still needs coherent leadership. Someone/some group to say “ok now we do X”. Pls capitalize on this day.

Observations from my visit to the VA today (first time since Trump and DOGE took over)
-more vets sitting around waiting generally
-they have not been able to backfill for my primary care doc that left 6 months ago
-they now have stanchions to form lines to check in (they never had these previously

I think it’s clear that if the democrats truly believe this is the crisis they purport it being (it is) they should be treating it as such. That means they need a “come to Jesus” moment and realize they need a leadership change to rise to the moment. Sanders/Warren should be leading the senate.

I have a a bunch of plants I’ve been keeping in nursery pots with the intention of finally trying bonsai after long admiring it. This was my first attempt and picked an azalea that was growing in the backyard. Worked with what I had on hand. @memycoffeenbonsai.bsky.social @bonsairay.bsky.social
