By Friendship Shot, I mean the thing where you hook your arms with the person in front of you before taking the shot.
Funnily enough, in Russia, it's called "drinking on Bruderschaft" (and yes, they don't translate the German).

My mom got the wrong dish and a missing side dish, and my father got nothing.
I felt bad for them, cause I get that they were probably just overworked and we/my father were only making it worse. I don't think I'd ever just walk out of a restaurant like that.

Full disclosure: we waited for half an hour after our order was taken, when the busboy walked up and said "Sorry, I forgot to submit your order". We said fine and waited a bit more. I mostly got what I wanted (but the wrong drink), my sister got the right dish, but the wrong/missing condiments,

We had an uneventful layover and an uneventful flight, and after the typical hassle of getting back, we finally arrived back home.

That was my two week trip to Moscow.

Then, we chilled until 2am, when we took a cab to the airport. I fell asleep at the gate and my leg fell asleep BADLY, and our first plane was delayed by about 1h40mins, because a) delays and b) it had to be washed (with hot water and antifreeze I guess???) before departure.

Our last full day was spent packing more, saying goodbye to our grandparents, and visiting my now favourite relatives in their new apartment. We had a good day there, ate great food, drank some good drinks, and I had one of those Friendship Shots with my favourite cousin. Good times.

Our new year's was extremely chill, we ate stuff, drank some stuff, and went to bed pretty early after midnight. Next day, I woke up almost back to full health, and we went on a walk along the Boulevards. We also started packing, since we didn't have much time otherwise.

The Eleventh day, which was Sylvester (and my birthday) started off very poorly, as I woke up at 5am with diarrhea, and the vomiting soon followed. It seems that a stomach bug was making its rounds in Moscow, and I was a victim. I was laid out for half a day, was getting better towards afternoon.

Tenth day, we chill for the first half, then take a train to the outskirts of Moscow, where we visited some relatives on their dacha. We had real good food, they had a nice cat, and we were cutting it a bit close with our departure to the train station, but all went well and we went home.

Then, we go and visit an exhibition on modern Russian jewelry, and go home again. Ninth day was pretty big, so I woke up early. We had a giant congregation at our great aunt's, had food n drinks, had a "Santa" deliver presents, and had a good time (me too, weirdly).

We barely made it home alive (the bus was crowded as fuck), and had a more or less chill evening.
Eighth day, we chill in the morning, then our aunt comes to pick up the copious amounts of food we were preparing, and us, and we drive to our great aunt's house. We sit a bit and pet the Fat Cat.

Seventh day, we visited the newly opened New Tretyakov Gallery. Pretty pictures, I liked it. Afterwards, a walk towards the Kreml, and we take a bus towards a shopping centre closer to home. Big ass grocery haul, and I got myself 25 pens for my student council for the equivalent of 1$. Cheap.

Later, we went on a big grocery run, and to end the day, we went to see The Taming of the Shrew. I liked the actors, I liked the play, but my brain is still yucked about the "good ending" being that one of the people just gets gaslit to fuck. Yes, it was Shakespeare and a different time, but still.
