Yeah, Toriyama was working with Shueisha (who owns the Dragon Ball IP) to establish the Capsule Corporation as a separate company to handle the brand, kind of like The Pokemon Company is to Nintendo. Then Toriyama died, and it's been hanging in a cluster F of uncertainty since then

Everything he does that's an adaptation or remake unnecessarily fleshes out the backstories or reinterprets the story to the point that it ruins it. I don't know why he keeps doing that, none of it is ever interesting.
