It's disheartening that in an age where knowledge has never been more accessible - the United States is about to be governed by an administration so primitive and ignorant as to believe that tariffs are good and that vaccines are bad.

Tariffs on US imports speckle the whole US economy with higher costs, lower efficiency, reduced output. And then of course the trading partners retaliate, which aggravates the waste and folly.

Point that needs to be stressed: every "product" is somebody else's input. A tariff on glass raises the price of windows. Costlier windows inflate the price of building a conference center. The more expensive conference center charges more to host meetings. So on forever.
