What I mean is that you’re unaware of the extent to which the cortisone, substance p, norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, etc. in your system is influencing your behaviour, not to mention the sensitivity or insensitivity of your limbic structures.

No, I think you behave automatically. If, however, the behaviour proves maladaptive, you try to post-hoc rationalise it!

I’m with Sapolski and Haidt on this one. We (our PFC) *think* we’re in the driving seat, but it’s really the engine (our neurochemistry, hormones and limbic system) that’s running the show. We do have *some* control, but far less than we believe.

No, I’m not. I’m sure there’s some implicit bias there, but I honestly see him as a pure opportunist who’ll use any faction, in whatever way, to further his own interests - fame and power.

Nah, Miriam Adelson donated $100m to his election campaign. She’d never have done that if he was antisemitic. Plus, look at how he supports Israel.
