A lot of us had a largely integrated community. I understand what you’re saying, there’s a lot of different humor that rolls around over there too. A lot of us have been trying to regather but the bottom line for some of us is that exact aspect of owned by google on YouTube. Reels is meta. Etc.

It was a wider window than you underrated. It’s fine. I’ve grown up with the internet in many phases, it’s a sad day. Minimizing what’s going on here & trying to laugh it off is how we keep slipping further into this kind of mess.

It’s not just about that algorithm. Google has owned YouTube since 2006 & if you can’t pick up on the issue here it’s really not worth explaining.

Tiktok was far from just teenagers. This is a bigger rights issue than simply “a TikTok ban” & has a lot more to do with our access to the countries & perspectives & the experiences of everyone we were connecting with all over the world. News about even the US was hitting it first. It’s a loss.

It’s an issue of freedom there’s a lot more to be concerned about than simply TikTok. TikTok was an outside window to other countries some of us normally did not see perspective of otherwise on any of these platforms.
