No, at least not that I'm aware of... I'm part of the monitoring program because I know folks on the team. If I recall I think they have a few hundred folks registered, not sure how they identified all of them.

4) people were really into grand father clocks in the 70s and 80s. they're pretty good at guessing their price as well.

3) bob barker has no time for suspense or intrigue in the early days. from watching that wheel spin 100s of times he knows where it's going to land probably 10 seconds before it stops spinning and he'll let contestants know if they're hooped or not as soon as he knows as well. kinda anti-climatic

2) perhaps I'm imagining it, but you can see the gradual increase in contestant strategy as price is right game theory becomes more prominent. early years almost no one bids "$1" or a single dollar above another contestant... they're all over the place
