New Zealand's electricity market is a total rort.

Households pay high prices so that big energy companies can increase profits.

We’re not in a cost of living or energy crisis at all. It’s actually a “markets gouging us blind while raking in massive profits” crisis.

For the first time since a Kremlin crackdown on NGOs following Russia's ongoing war on Ukraine, a groundbreaking report into its war-waging authoritarianism shows that the environment is one of the few topics that still has the power to generate protest.

Why the government's much-trumpted power plan to reform the electricity sector is more likely to result in dirtier, more expensive power, than a clean, cheap solution.👇

We can have a clean energy future with less pollution and affordable electricity - but Luxon is threatening that with plans to lock NZ into decades of new fossil gas generation.

In the controversy and debate following Winston Peters' announcement at the UN last week that NZ would not yet recognise Palestine as a state, it was easy to overlook a small but telling detail👇

Who wrote the Cabinet paper recommending NZ not recognise a Palestinian state?
Analysis - Cabinet papers are usually drafted by public servants in departments that fall within the minister's portfolio area but that did not happen in this case.

Screenshot of a Fed Farmers tweet: “Federated Farmers is renewing its call for Greenpeace to be stripped of its charitable status after members of the activist group were convicted for illegal activity.”

Which has a dramatic screenshot of a press release by Greenpeace reporting on trespass charges brough against them for a peaceful protest against seabed mining

Update from Zeebrugge, Belgium: After almost 30 hrs of blockade at the LNG terminal, Greenpeace Belgium activists were removed and arrested. The ship Witness was towed away.

At least 2 LNG tankers headed for Zeebrugge seem to have changed course as a result of the action. #StopFossilGas
