On the 74th day of continuous protests, Rustaveli Avenue was blocked again, despite heavy police presence on Rustaveli and nearby streets.

Initially police tried to stop the demonstrators, but as the crowd grew, they retreated through the surrounding streets.

Another view on that scene that's already doing the rounds -- if you watch it a few times, you see the snatch troop lining up; the grabbing of a protester & viciously hurling him to the ground; the aggressive kicking.

Sandro Bukia is now free, but according to his uncle, he was severely beaten. His uncle also said that Sandro and his mother were not attending the protest. They work nearby and the young man was abducted by the police while on their way home from work.

Video of prominent opposition leader Nika Gvaramia, who was previously imprisoned on what were widely thought bogus charges, being violently detained in Tbilisi this afternoon. Local reports suggest he was unconscious by the time police got him to the car.

Referring to the violent police crackdown in Tbilisi, a local official took the stage with an emotional plea directed at Georgian Dream: “Stop, you executioner.”
