What is it with the marketing types wanting to start 12 days of Christmas on 1 December? It's 24 days until Christmas so you need an advent calendar for now. The 12 days, pear tree, gold rings stuff is after Christmas #justsaying

I feared that one thing lost with Brexit was the protection for specific foods with local history. So it was very good to see that the fenland fields around Soham carry a protected location for celery, the first British vegetable to have one apparently

Just had to break out the kiwi shoe polish and realised that it is a forgotten smell. If you've got a tin, have a sniff of nostalgia. Maybe it ties into those 'things were better in 1975' messages doing the rounds today

Turns out that the #sconeofthemonth at @nationaltrust.org.uk is red dragon. Apparently no actual dragon in the ingredients but the chilli did have a bit of a kick
