Standing back, looking at the story itself, this is actually a pacy, fast-moving book. Lots happening, and happening fast. But the English is slightly stodgy, the dialog translated using language that is slightly too formal for the characters. And with that, the pace (and the reader) is lost.

Thatchersim — still the basis of so much of our economy — worked by making us buy things we already owned, using money we borrowed from our grandkids, and then cancelling the maintenance and calling it "savings".
