Yep.. Linus Tech Tips overclocked (I think it was a TI-83) but being Linus he had to go one further and water cool the CPU. I watched a video about someone using pencil lead to change the value of a resistor in the CPU clock circuit. Some calculators like the Casio FXCG-50 can be altered by software

Get a watch strap pin tool to remove the pins and then choose a strap with the right width between the lugs. Watch a video on how to remove and insert the strap pins.

Our Spectrum one day back in the 1980's started making coloured squares on the screen. I took it apart and decided the voltage regulator was faulty. So Dad took me to the electronics shop and we bought a new regulator and I replaced it and sure enough it fixed it. I was only age 14.
