Don’t disagree on the weather front nor the design, I think I’d be disappointed if I’d spent money on travel, accommodation and a stand though at this event, but it hasn’t cost me a lot and made a handful of connections. Insomnia was better, old EGX was better, Develop and Indie Treasures is better

I’ve exhibited at both EGX and Insominia. My understanding was that EGX itself is a small sidebar of MCM Comicon now so although lots of people most are not there for the games. I did forget that insomnia was returning! I thought that was gone for good.

I went today. It’s relatively local for me and a new expo is a nice idea

Quite enjoyed the industry stage talks.

The NEC is too big for the size of exhibitors, the number of visitors was lower than expected too (poss due to the weather).

Given it’s a first attempt I hope it can grow next time

Probably about the same, just older and still working in the industry?

I wonder why there's never been even a spiritual successor. I understand why Rare hasn't revisited it, it was a bit of a rough-and-ready game, even for the era, but had so much charm and the scrappy team that pulled it off gave us such a unique game. Would be worth pitching Rare for the license :D

But two decades is long enough for even the deepest wounds to heal…

It's been 20 years since the launch, it really was a trial by fire.

So many things went against the team (I only joined for the last 2.5 years, it had problems even at that point)

And yes, it's visually aged badly, it's design somewhat conflicted - even at launch BUT it did have great multiplayer.

There’s maybe a little lag that I hope is worked out, but the fact that it’s plug and play, works in tvs and projectors, and has no extra dependencies (white borders or stick on LEDs/lightbar) is cool
