A nursing organisation with close ties to the City of London has passed another key milestone in its history since being created nearly a decade ago by a group of nurses who trained in the capital. The Worshipful Company of Nurses is one of more than 100 livery companies in London that are trade associations with origins dating back to medieval guilds.

The @cureparkinsons.org.uk research day is a brilliant event where you hear from scientists at the cutting edge of seeking a cure for Parkinson’s. What’s depressing for “Parkies” is that the bureaucracy around clinical trials seems to be getting worse open.substack.com/pub/rorycell...

Grateful to be interviewed for this deep dive by the BBC's Nick Triggle into the threadbare state of NHS palliative care services.

4 in 10 hospitals don't even have a 7-day palliative care service.

This is a travesty, @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social. (1/2)

I've written about what dying typically looks like - not as a 'pro' or 'anti' AD piece, but in the spirit of confronting a taboo.

We've lost the easy familiarity with the patterns of dying that existed when death typically occurred in people’s own homes.

Let's talk about it 🙏
