The government want to "crack down" on home education but seem to think they can do it with no money. We need to talk less about our right to home educate and more about the funding that will be required make home education difficult. They'll change their tune faster than you can say EHCP.

I've just seen a video on RedNote that says there are no homeless in China. If this is true, then Western politicians have a lot to answer for.

The Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill aims to introduce a raft of new education policies, including requiring all schools to teach the national curriculum. However, what parents want to see is a new curriculum fit for the 21st Century. Not a peep about this of course.

I often get asked whether my home-educated children sit assessments. My reply is that this would be absurd as my eldest was failing all his assessments at mainstream school. What would be the consequences if he failed at home-based assessments? Send him back to school where he was failing anyway?

The number of home-educated kids in the UK has risen 21% to just under 112K vs 92K in October 2023. This isn't counting children not attending but still registered at a school. The Labour government is just as clueless as the Tories as to why this is happening.
