This is exactly my vibe and I have never wanted to be an agent so badly.

I'll definitely let you know. Rn all my projects that aren't already being queried by my agent are based on my own multitude of chronic illnesses and neurodivergences, but I have a list of sensitivity readers I loved working with/would love to work with in the future you're on it!

Hey! So billionaires are not our friends and there are some real problems with the new Taylor Swift album, and also yelling at Black women who like Taylor Swift for liking Taylor Swift is not doing what you think it's doing! Both things can be true at the same time!

Ten days❤️

I can't imagine dating in NY without pain, without being sober, without my body. So Kai has lupus, which I wrote as very similar to how my disabilities affect me AND with a sensitivity reader, who was amazing to work with.

🔗 to signed copies on my page! I can't wait for you to meet Kai.
A graphic of a cityscape with text that reads: A sneak peek of We Are Made of Scars & Starlight (especially for the chronic illness friends). A graphic of a cityscape with text that reads: Why was it so hard to tell people? It wasn’t a personal failing. It wasn’t something he had to fix. And yet, he didn’t want people feeling bad for him. He didn’t want them to look at him with pity and a twisted relief that their bodies had never turned on them like that. “I don’t know a lot about lupus,” Ray admitted. “It’s an autoimmune condition, isn’t it? Where the body attacks itself ?” Kai nodded. The tissues and organs, specifically. “My body isn’t very good at its job.”

Just some books about immigrant families. For reasons. Not like they're more necessary than ever in this specific political moment.

First, nonfiction by @avashianeema.bsky.social, Diya Abdo, Nada Samih-Rotondo, and Jose Antonio Vargas:

They are taking brown *and* Black Chicagoans. ICE is terrorizing neighborhoods. They want us to be scared, to obey in advance, to bend the knee. And my city of big shoulders, we need to step up even more. Do not go gentle into that good night.

The more privilege you have, the louder you should be.

I just finished and loved this book! It's so profoundly Jewish, not only bc of the mythology and traditions, but because it's a book about storytelling, perspective, and faith. Not just faith in the religious sense, but faith in other people and, through the main character, in ourselves.
THE MAIDEN AND HER MONSTER by Maddie Martinez.

Ahhhh I'm so excited for this!!!
